Delores Felchle, B2C Picking lead

Dubow Employee Profile

Here at Dubow, we’re constantly pushing the envelope of what’s possible; we seek out the most innovative techniques and technology that keep our customers front and center. Behind our creativity and service is the best team in the industry!

What are your responsibilities at Dubow?

As the inventory picking lead, I create work for the pickers. That means I watch the orders drop in from our customers, and then I take those orders and coordinate the shirts or materials to pick and get into our digital production.

That sounds like a lot of coordination!

It’s a steady, non-stop stream of customer orders that I’m sending to the team to pick. I’m mainly on a computer all day in our batching system. I send the work to our team in another building to print. This season has been especially challenging because our team was hit hard with COVID.

How has your team handled COVID challenges?

There was a time when nearly my entire department was out because of COVID or COVID-related issues. As we all returned, I saw the camaraderie and motivation. We wanted to show our customers that we could come back strong and do what we needed to do. That’s teamwork.

What does a typical day look like for you?

I get here early and go into the batching system and start creating work. My job is in pre-production, so my work sets up the pickers for their day. They can just grab a work order, put the shirt on a machine, get it produced it and on to shipping.

What made you want to join the Dubow team?

I was on a work release program, which means I was in prison at the time I joined Dubow two years ago. Rob Dubow (CEO of Dubow) gives people here a chance. He doesn’t care what you’ve done or been through. If you can work – if you do well and give it 100% - he’s willing to give you an opportunity. Not many other places will give you a chance like that.

Dubow has given me every opportunity to support my family and learn. It has been a wonderful experience working here and I’m very loyal to this company because of that.

What other positions have you held at Dubow?

I started at an entry level position and they’ve given me a lot of opportunities to advance. At first, I staged orders on the embroidery side. Then I got moved to working on collation and finishing on stickers and posters.

Then I got to work in batching and eventually in inventory full time where they offered me the lead position. That’s a lot of change in just 2 years, but I will give whatever I can to keep this company going and to learn. If you have the motivation and the skills, Dubow will push you to grow.

What keeps you working here?

Even with the crazy hours and stress of COVID, these people are like family to me. You become committed to achieving things as a team. Especially in this economy, having a good place of employment is almost as important as your actual family. This is a place where I can show up, be accepted, and be a part of its growth.

That said, you have to put in the work here. No one’s going to give you a free ticket. But when you’re surrounded by hard-working people, that’s motivating. People here give a lot of their time and energy. But it’s also a place that supports you when you need it. I’m grateful to be able to work full time and take care of my family.

Tell us about your life outside of work.

My husband also works at Dubow, and between the two of us we have six kids ranging from 8 years old to 16 years old. We recently bought a house and we’re very active in our church.
