Dubow, a global leader in apparel and hardgoods decorating, announced that it has received a $280,000 training grant from the Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED) under the Minnesota Job Skills Partnership.
In partnership with St. Cloud State University (SCSU), Dubow will deliver wide-ranging employee trainings that include: technical skills such as quality assurance, process improvements and lean manufacturing; leadership development; diversity, equity and inclusion; customer service, and much more. Each and every employee will participate and gain new skills throughout the three-year training plan. SCSU’s Center for Continuing Studies will help Dubow finalize the topics and programs, as well as provide many of the trainers.
Far beyond textbook learning, this program will be interactive and cater to a variety of learning styles. Employees will learn in classrooms, online, and on the facility floor. Dubow has committed a dollar-for-dollar match that allows its +260 employees to be fully paid throughout the sessions.
We’re so proud of our Dubow team and we are thrilled to receive this grant. It will allow us the opportunity to create a customized training plan that increases the skill set of each team member, which will boost productivity and significantly enhance our overall team performance,” said Karen Schmidt, chief human resources officer at Dubow. “This grant will not only solidify our company as the industry leader, but will equip our employees with lifelong skills and reinforce St. Cloud as a thriving economic center.”
“We are already one of the largest decorator apparel companies in the United States, and this training will catapult our workforce and capabilities even farther ahead,” said Rob Dubow, CEO of Dubow. “We’re grateful for the partnerships that allow us to invest in our workforce and give them the knowledge and confidence to reach their goals at Dubow.”
