What are your responsibilities at Dubow?
I joined about two years ago, and my job is to make sure the machines and the building are running like clockwork. I set up machines, move machines, I hang shelves, fix leaks, clean dryers…basically anything that needs fixing, I can do it.
Right now, we’re getting ready for the holidays, which is our busy reason. Each year, we get even more efficient and organized. Dubow works hard to keep employees long term so that our work just flows.
What made you want to join the Dubow team?
I was applying for a few different jobs around town through a job placement service. I got a call from Dubow, so I interviewed. Before I knew it, I was at orientation. It was like they hired me before I even knew I was hired! But I really enjoy here. I really appreciate my boss and I love working the night shift.
What keeps you interested in the work?
I like doing different jobs every day. I get a list of things that need to get done, and I’m trusted to get the work done efficiently and on time. I also do a lot of work proactively, like fixing things that I spot or making suggestions about improving certain areas. I really love the flexibility and independence. They don’t micromanage me.
At Dubow, if someone has an idea that could make the job easier, they’re willing to try it out. That’s how a company should be…if someone has an idea, they test it. Dubow is always willing to try something new. I’ve never worked for a company that’s so willing to be flexible and change fast.
What would you tell someone interested in working at Dubow?
Dubow offers flexible work. For my job, if something comes up, I can talk to my boss and flex my schedule. I work hard and they have accommodated me when it’s needed.
Tell us about your life outside of work.
I do a lot of maintenance work for my friends! For example, I’m helping my buddy redo his camper and I’m redoing my camper. I have a cat and two kids. I enjoy going out on the lake and just relaxing at home.
